Privacy
Bitecharts is a small, independent project run from Denmark. This page says in plain language what we store and why.
If you just browse
We store nothing about you. No tracking, no analytics cookies, no ads. If you request a dish through the search box, we store the dish name you typed and, if you provide one, the public TikTok or Instagram post link you shared. We do not copy the post or use it for tracking.
If you create a profile
We store your name, email, a securely hashed password (we can never see the original), and your cook log — which recipes you say you made, which version, and your rating. If you join a household, its members can see your cook log entries; that's the point of a household. A session cookie keeps you signed in — it's strictly necessary, which is why there's no cookie banner.
Deleting your data
Email mathiasvalentine7@gmail.com from your account address and we'll delete your profile and everything attached to it.
For creators
Bitecharts links to creators' original posts and summarises recipe facts (ingredients and quantities) across many versions of a dish — we don't copy your videos, photos or writing. If your recipe is featured and you'd like anything corrected or removed, email mathiasvalentine7@gmail.com and we'll sort it quickly.
